Medical Assisting Tutor
SMARTHINKING seeks motivated individuals to serve as part-time, online Medical Assisting Tutors.
A Washington, DC-based education organization, SMARTHINKING provides real-time, online tutoring and learning services for post-secondary institutions and textbook publishers. Responsibilities include (a) real-time, online tutoring in medical assisting, and (b) assisting in the training, evaluation, and mentoring of new tutors. All candidates must have a computer and Internet access.
To qualify, candidates should have a degree and experience in the medical assisting field. A minimum of 2 years teaching/tutoring experience in the medical assisting field is required. Candidates must be available to work 10 to 20 hours per week. The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience assessing the instructional abilities and performance of other tutors, and the ability to correct and provide helpful advice that facilitates professional development.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to troubleshoot problems calmly in potentially stressful situations.
