Burck is an experienced writer and speaker and has advised all levels of government about the opportunities and dangers of using network technology in welfare reform, education, electronic commerce, voting, the democratic process, community development and the telecommunications industry. Burck has written about education and technology for Wired Magazine, Wired News, Converge Magazine, University Business and the National School Boards Association.

Before launching Burck Consulting, Burck was Research Director at Public Interest Breakthroughs www.p-i-b.org), a non-profit consulting organization that helps state and local governments plan and build information systems for human services.
