Position Summary:

The CTO/Director of Technology reports to the CEO and is responsible for the strategic and operational direction of the 12 person technological planning, development and operation teams. This hands-on position will lead all product development initiatives and play an integral role in the execution of the company’s strategic vision and future growth. Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide technology vision and organizational leadership.
• Work together with the business teams to define, document and manage the product roadmap.
• Lead the product architecture and design.
• Oversee commercial SaaS operation and solution delivery.
• Responsible for back office and product infrastructures.
• Direct, coach, mentor and grow the software development team.
• Improve productivity and increase the maintainability and usability of software.
• Improve and institutionalize best practice Agile engineering practices and methodologies.
• Evaluate potential acquisitions.
• Function as a member of the senior management team

Knowledge and Skills Required:

• A minimum of 5-7 years experience directing the development of commercial software solutions.
• Experience developing and delivering Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions.
• Experience with n-tier enterprise web applications, Service-Oriented Architectures (SOA) and Web Services.
• Software programming experience with object oriented languages.
• Experience in data base design and PL/SQL programming
• Advanced knowledge of web development technologies; Cold Fusion, JavaScript, Java, Flash and Flex.
• The ideal candidate enjoys challenges and is willing/able to learn new skills.

Education/Training Required:

Bachelor degree in Computer Science or relevant experience
Appropriate certifications or masters degree are a plus.
