I tend to keep my automobiles for 10 to 15 years.  With regular maintenance and tender loving care my 2001 car still runs great. But it’s getting more and more out of date ––newer models are safer and more fuel efficient.  I still like my car, but I would like it to be safer, more comfortable, and less of a gas guzzler.  At some point I’m better off to just trade it in for a new model with the latest technology.

We’re at the same point with Smarthinking’s technology.  Twelve years ago we built a tutoring platform to connect tutors worldwide with students who needed their help.  We updated that platform year after year adding new features and functionality to accommodate the needs of thousands of students and tutors every day.   But as technology continued to advance it became more difficult to continue to grow our original system.  We finally reached a point where we needed to upgrade.  For the past nine months our team of developers has been creating a new Smarthinking platform using the latest design methods and technology.  This new platform will have all of the functionality of the system we’ve relied on for the past 12 years but it will be more agile and customizable.
